Updates take effect as of August 4, 2022, and are evaluated every 3 months.
Following up on the increase in world oil prices, the Ministry of Transportation allowed airlines to make adjustments to costs (fuel surcharges) for domestic passenger air transport. This provision is enforced to maintain the continuity of airline operations and to ensure that connectivity between regions in Indonesia is not disrupted.
This provision is stipulated in the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number 142 of 2022 concerning Additional Fees (Fuel Surcharge) for Passenger Fares for Economy Class Services for Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transport which will come into force from the date of stipulation on 4 August 2022 and will be evaluated every 3 months.
Following are the terms of the additional fee (Fuel Surcharge):
1. An additional fee (Fuel Surcharge) applies for the Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Economy service class.
2. The amount of additional costs (Fuel Surcharge) is differentiated based on Jet and Propeller type aircraft with the following amounts:
I. Jet-type aircraft (Lion Air, Batik Air, and Super Air Jet) with a maximum of 15% of the TBA (Upper Limit Tariff).
II. Propeller-type aircraft (wings air) a maximum of 25% of the TBA (Upper Limit Tariff).
3. The amount of additional costs (Fuel Surcharge) does not include Value Added Tax (VAT).
4. The number of additional fees (Fuel Surcharge) Must be included in the ticket as a separate component of the distance fare (basic fare).
